17th October

Leave Coleford by car for Heathrow to catch 19.05 overnight  flight to Johannesburg BA55 arriving Oliver Tambo 07.05

18th October

“Bushlore” to collect us from airport and take us to their depot to pick up our two Toyota Landcruisers. Inspect and then do a bit of grocery shopping etc.

Leave Jo’burg and head NW towards the Waterberg to the Silver Streams Lodge for our first night.

19th/20th October

Head towards the Botswana border  and cross the Limpopo at Martins Drift. Drive to Serowe via Palapaye and stop for meat shopping.  Staying at the Khama Rhino Sanctuary for two nights.

21st October

Drive A14 tarred road to Orapa then head Off- Road into the Makgadikdadi Salt Pans for one nights stay at Kubu Island

22nd October

Drive NW through the pan to Gweta for a one night stop at Planet Baobab

23rd October

To Nxai Pan National Park staying one night at South Camp

24/25th October

Travel to Maun  the largest town in the north for two nights staying at Rileys Hotel (luxury !!). Stock up on provisions again and explore the Town and area

26th/27th/28th October

Off to the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta for three nights staying at the Xakanaxa camp. Game viewing and boat trip around the delta.

29th October

Back to Maun staying in Audi Camp, Luxury Tented Camp with en-suite. Stock up again for the next seven days. No more luxury for a while !!

30th/31st October

To Kumaga beside the Boteti River in the Makgadikdadi Pans National Park for two nights

1st /4th November

Possibly the highlight of the trip to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve for four nights.

Day 1 at Sunday Pan

Day 2 at Passarge Pan

Day 3 at Piper Pan

Day 4 at Deception Pan/Valley

5th November

Exit the Central Kalahari and a long day’s drive back to the South African border staying for one night at the Palala Game Lodge (luxury again at last after 7 nights tenting on the roof of our Toyota Land cruisers)

6th/9th November

Drive back to Jo’burg and drop off the vehicles at” Bushlore” and straight to Oliver Tambo Airport for our flight to Cape Town at 16.50 arriving CT at 19.00. Pick up hire car and drive to Franschoek in the Wine Lands for four nights staying at Burgundy Bourgogne Cottages

10th/18th November

Into Cape Town for 9 nights staying in a cottage in the Waterkant district of Greenpoint

19th/24th November

Fly back to Jo’burg at 13.15 arriving  15.10. Say bye bye to L&M and pick up hire car and drive south east to the Drakensburg area for five nights staying at The Champagne Castle Hotel. Walking and chilling !

25th/27th November

Drive back to Jo’burg and meet Jeff, an old work colleague, park the car at his and back to O. R. Tambo  Airport to catch the 15.35 Kulula flight to East London. Pick up by Cheryl and drive to their holiday home in Kei Mouth on the Wild Coast  (Eastern Cape) staying for three nights.

28th November

Return to Jo’burg from East London on the 08.55 morning flight arriving O.T at 10.25

Pick up car and hang around for the day somewhere before returning car and checking in for our return flight to the UK at 21.20 arriving UK Tuesday morning 29th at 06.35 Ugh!!
