  • The Rotary Bakery visit

    20111011-220115.jpg David and Pres

We had a great visit to Olivers Bakery in Crediton where one of our members, David Oliver, demonstrated the art of bread making. We all donned our aprons and had a go at constructing our loaves and rolls, bloomers, platted shapes with seed toppings etc. A great night and thanks to David and Dianne . Some of our efforts as follows.

  • Last Day of September

    Banksie Travels
It is the last day of September and it has been sunny all day and 25 degrees. Marvelous !
Is it an Indian Summer ? An Indian summer is normally in the months of October and November if the weather is particularly unseasonal with respect to higher than normal temperatures and more sunshine.
It has nothing to do with the weather in India but to the good weather that may be enjoyed by the North American Indians. If the weather is good they used to have a bountifull harvest which set them up for the cold months ahead. Hence the term ” An Indian Summer “
