This is the Start

Tuesday 8th October

Off we go  by train to Heathrow to catch our Emirates flight at 14.15 via Dubai to Bangkok arriving at 12.25 on the 9th.

Wednesday 9th to Thursday 10th October

A day and a bit in Bangkok staying at the Chatrium Riverside Hotel

Friday 11th to Monday 14th October

Fly Air Asia at 12.50 to Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand via Don Muang Airport arriving 14.00, staying at the Baan Klang Wiang Hotel in Chiang Mai for 4 nights

All day Thai Cookery course on the 14th

Tuesday 15th October ( On our way to the Thai/Laos border)

Find a bus to take us to Phayao about 3/4 hours away and staying at the Rico Resort in Chiang Kham for 1 night

Wednesday 16th October

Another bus to Chiang Rai a few hours away and staying at the Laluna Hotel and Resort for 1 night

Thursday 17th October

Bus to Chiang Khong on the Thai/Laos border and staying at the Chiangkhong Teak Garden Hotel

Friday 18th October

Hopefully get picked up from our hotel and taken to the border crossing to Laos to get visas and board our little boat for our two day (6hours per day) boat trip along the Mekong to Luang Prabang in central northern Laos. Nagi Cruises.

Stay in a guest house/ hotel by the side of the river for overnight stay

Saturday 19th to Tuesday 22nd October

Second day of boat trip and arrival at Luang Prabang staying at the Kiridara Hotel for four nights.

Sunday 23rd to Friday 25th October

Fly to Hanoi, North Vietnam by Lao Airlines at 17.10 arriving 18.10.

Transfer to the Rising Dragon Palace Hotel

Saturday 26th to Sunday 27th October

We have a pick-up at the hotel for a transfer to Halong Bay on the coast to board our Junk Boat (Syrena Cruises) for a 2 day cruise around the bay with one night on board the Junk.

Sunday 27th to Monday 28th October

Return to Hanoi and stay at the same hotel for another 2 nights

Tuesday 29th October and off to China

Find a day bus to Nanning in Southern China which is about 7/8hour trip.

Overnight in the Grand Soluxe International Hotel

Wednesday 30th October to Sunday 3rd November

Another bus for 7 hours to  Yangshuo in Guangxi Province where we are staying for 5 nights at the Tea Cozy Boutique Hotel

Monday 4th (Long Day) to Wednesday 6th November

Day bus to Gangzhou (about 7 hours) and then a 2 hour train to Hong Kong staying at the L’Hotel Nina and Convention Centre for 3 nights.

Thursday 7th November

Leave Hong Kong at 19.15 by Qantas for 9 hour flight to Brisbane arriving 06.05 Friday 8th

Friday 8th to Wednesday 20th November

In Brisbane staying with Irene’s sister Anne and family for a bit of a rest. ( knives and forks not chop sticks)

Thursday 21st to 25th November

Leave Brisbane on Qantas for Sydney at 11.25 arriving 14.oo

Staying with Chris and Martin just outside Sydney at Pittwater for 5 nights

Tuesday 26th November

Leave Sydney on Qantas for Bangkok at 10.05 arriving Bangkok same day at 15.35 (9.5h flight)

Transfer to Mariya Boutique Residence near airport for the night (Early flight next day)

Wednesday 27th to Monday  2nd  December

Fly to Phuket from Don Mueang Airport, Air Asia leaving at 10.50 and arriving 12.15

Transfer to Ayara Hilltops Resort at Surin Beach staying 6 nights

Tuesday 3rd to Wednesday 4th December

Fly to KL, Malaysia at 13.30 arriving 15.55, and bus/train or something to Melaka(World Heritage Site) for 2 nights staying at the Hatten Hotel

KL Airport

Thursday 4th to Saturday 7th December

Travel to KL from Melaka staying at the Royale Chulan Hotel for 3 nights

Sunday 8th December

Transfer to KL airport for overnight stay at the Concorde Inn

Monday 9th December

Leave KL for long trip home at 09.50 eventually arriving at Heathrow the same day at 20.05 and transferring to the Double Tree Hotel at Heathrow for the “night”!!

Tuesday 10th December

Catch National Express bus at 10.55 arriving Exeter Bus station at 14.50 and hopefully someone will pick us up
